Cutting when the plants reach a certain maturity, carefully turning the windrows of hay so it dries evenly before its baled. They know that once the hay has cured, further exposure to sunlight bleaches nutrients from the hay. The packaging standard of loose hay in a clear plastic bag provides little or no protection against ultraviolet light. Alfalfa is ideal as a natural food treat for bunnies in their first year of growth. It’s high in calcium to build strong, healthy bones and its great tasting. Alfalfa King's Double-Compressed Alfalfa provides the length of fiber essential to a small animal’s digestive system. Timothy grass hay is high fiber, low protein hay perfect for bunines that are more mature who shouldn’t have as much protein or calcium as can be found in alfalfa. Oat, Wheat & Barley is a 3 hay blend with lots of seed heads and bulk fiber. An excellent low protein, high fiber alternative to Timothy. Essential length of fiber to keep your rabbits healthy and happy. Choose from 4 lb. box of Timothy hay, a 4 lb. box of Oat, Wheat and Barley, or a 5 lb. box of Alfalfa or one pound bags. |
